A federal lawmaker, Mr Amobi Ogah, has massively empowered members of his constituency in Abia, to mark one year anniversary of his stewardship.
Ogah, representing Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, charged the beneficiaries to utilise the items, which he personally distributed on Saturday.
Some of the items given out were five sedan cars, including four Toyota Camry and one Golf, six mini buses, four mini trucks, 20 tricycles (Keke), 50 motorcycles and 16 ladies’ machines.
Others were 50 sewing machines, 50 grinding machines, 20 hairdressing machines, 10 car wash pressure pump machines, 10 generating sets, 10 vulcanizing machines and many bags of rice and fertilizers
Ogah, who marked the anniversary in his
country home, Onuaku Uturu in Isuikwuato Local Government Area, said that it was the first batch for the 2024 empowerment programme.
He pledged to do another as Christmas gift to them in the coming days, saying that the items would enable them become self-reliant as well as job creators.
Ogah expressed gratitude to members of his constituency for the overwhelming love and support given to him during and after the 2023 general elections.
He assured them of his unwavering determination to continue representing them effectively in order to give them the dividends of democracy.
Giving an account of his stewardship within the first one year in office, Ogah who is a member of the Labour Party(LP), rated himself among the best legislators at the Green Chambers.
“My vision is that, as you are empowered today, you will become employers of labour, thereby becoming vessels of empowerment and wealth creators in the constituency.
“I assure you that I will continue to fulfill my campaign promises and prioritise your interests and welfare,” said Hon. Ogah.
In a goodwill messages, Mr Ceekay Igara, the National Vice Chairman of LP (South East) expressed satisfaction with Ogah’s performance and described the empowerment as the first of its kind in Abia.
He called on the people of Isuikwato and Ummunneochi to continue to support Ogah for him to do more for them.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ijeoma Okorie, of the People’s Democratic Party, who was given a mini bus, said that she was simply overwhelmed by the lawmaker’s kind gesture.(NAN)
