The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abia South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Erondu Erondu, has thanked party members following his victory in the just-concluded primaries.
Erondu polled 15,982 votes to defeat Anyim Nyerere, Blessing Nwagba, and Paul Ikonne in the APC senatorial primary.
Speaking after receiving his Certificate of Return at the APC Secretariat, he described the contest as keenly contested but stressed that there was “no victor and no vanquished.”
According to him, the outcome reflects the unity within the APC, which he described as one big family working toward a common goal.
He said Nyerere, Nwagba, and Ikonne remained his brothers and sister, united by the shared vision of transforming the lives of the people of Abia South.
Erondu said his years of service in various government capacities had given him a broad understanding of the expectations of the office of a senator.
He expressed confidence in securing victory in the 2027 general election.
He emphasised the need to change the old order, assuring constituents that if elected, no community or individual would be left behind in the development of the district.
While acknowledging the contributions of past representatives of Abia South, he said it was time for a new approach.
He also expressed optimism about contesting against Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, noting that he had committed the entire journey to God.
The politician, popularly known as the “Empowerment Master,” said representation was about bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people.
He added that public service and empowerment were familiar paths to him and promised to make the people of Abia South proud if elected.
Erondu commended the Abia APC for conducting peaceful, free, fair, and credible primaries.
He urged party members who did not secure tickets to remain committed and work for the progress of the party, while thanking his supporters for their steadfast encouragement and belief in his vision.
