The Ambassadors of Samuel Ifeanyi Ọnuigbo (SIO), a pro-group loyal to former lawmaker Sam Onuigbo, have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid following his victory in the APC presidential primary.

Speaking at the primary election held at Nkata Community Hall in Nkata, the Coordinator of the Ambassadors of SIO, Henry Okezie, said members turned out in large numbers to deliver on their mandate to secure all 62 wards in Abia Central for President Tinubu.

Okezie noted that despite prevailing economic challenges, the Tinubu administration had repositioned the nation’s economy and introduced reforms with the potential for long-term benefits.

Also speaking with journalists, APC state officer, Chukwuemeka Uchegbu said indigenes of Ibere Ward 2, the home ward of Onuigbo, voted massively for Tinubu despite lingering grievances over the outcome of the Abia Central Senatorial primary.

He described Onuigbo as a loyal and committed party man who mobilised party faithful extensively and provided the necessary support to ensure active participation in the presidential primary and the president’s re-election campaign.

Tinubu won Saturday’s APC presidential primary by a wide margin and has received his Certificate of Return amid celebrations by party supporters across the country.
